Clos Bagatelle Saint-Chinian Blanc

te Pā Reserve Collection Seaside Sauvignon Blanc is a generous and fruity white wine displaying a nose of tropical flavours as well as the herbal flavours we know and love from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This wine belongs to the te Pā Reserve collection, showcasing some of the estate’s finest wines. One other notable example is the Hillside Sauvignon Blanc, a counterpart of Seaside – so called due to the locations of their vineyards. Despite being vinified in exactly the same way as its Hillside counterpart, Seaside is strikingly different. These wines are a brilliant illustration of the importance of terroir to New Zealand winemaking.

Immediately impressive, this wine reveals its class from the start. Brambly fruit underpinned by subtle oaky nuances, lovely sweet spice - warm star anise with a touch of cinnamon. This classic Cotes du Rhone Villages is enriched with specially-selected parcels from Seguret and Sablet.

The smell is ethereal, complex, with black cherry and wood fruits aromas. The taste is round, elegant, bodied and velvety, the final is persistent and spicy.

On the palate it is full bodied with mature fruit flavours, spicy notes, medium tannins and a long finish. This wine is ideal with roasted or stewed meats, pasta dishes and strong cheeses.
